About Us

St. Mary’s Cholsey, Church.

St. Mary’s Cholsey is a village church with an active congregation - each Sunday we have our main service at 9.45.

You are welcome to join us for worship at all our services or just to come and enjoy the presence of God in this wonderful church building - made special by over a thousand years of prayer.

Through all the changes in St. Mary’s history, one thing has remained constant. Since its foundation,  the church has been a place set apart for the worship of God.

Today the congregation is made up of people from all walks of life who come together to share the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and worship God. We welcome all those who wish to worship or those who just wish to come and learn.

The building itself stands as a testimony to the faith of many generations and has done so ever since the church was founded as part of an abbey by King Ethelred the Unready in approximately 986 AD.
